Bata

Bata is the second largest city of Equatorial Guinea with a population of around 70,000 people. It lies on the Atlantic Ocean coast of Rio Muni. The city is a transport hub and port, from which ferries sail to Malabo and Douala, and fliers can land at Bata Airport.

Bata, the biggest city on the mainland, is charming colonial town with many attractions and plenty of restaurants, bars and hotels. Though it has been transformed into a modern city during the last decade, there’s still plenty of traditional Africa to be seen in Bata, including many small markets selling the African clothing, arts and crafts, fruit and fish. Bomé is a popular and beautiful beach near the city centre where many locals go on weekends.
